We Create: The 2021 Art & Design Faculty Exhibition

November 2 - December 29, 2021 | Special Exhibition Gallery

“We Create” features the diverse, professional expressions of the UMD Art & Design Department faculty members. The exhibition brings together the creative works and practices from faculty members in the four distinct areas of the department: studio art, graphic design, art education, and art history.

The faculty in the department of Art & Design is dedicated to leading creative lives. Our challenging and innovative learning environments support creative activity and encourage and mentor students to be independent and critical thinkers, life-long learners, and make connections with communities in the Twin Ports region. As educators and professional artists, designers, art educators, and art historians, we hold the same ideals for ourselves. Through our teaching and professional work, we serve our students and our respective disciplines and creative fields. By highlighting the practices defining our work both inside and outside of the classroom, this exhibition showcases the many ways that “we create.”
